What is Numcross?
Numcross is a free daily Kakuro-lite number puzzle you can play directly in your browser — no download, no account needed. Every day at midnight, a new puzzle is released. Fill digits 1–9 into the white cells of a 6×6 grid so that every horizontal and vertical run of cells sums to the number shown in its clue cell, with no digit repeated within any single run.
How to Play Numcross
The black cells with a diagonal line are clue cells. The number in the upper-right is the target sum for the run of white cells to the right. The number in the lower-left is the target sum for the run of white cells below.
Click or tap a white cell to select it (teal highlight), then press a digit key 1–9 or tap the numpad below the grid. Arrow keys move the selection. Backspace or the ✕ button clears a cell. When all runs are correct, you win!
Numcross Answer Today
Every player gets the same puzzle on the same day, so there is exactly one correct answer — a specific arrangement of digits that satisfies all run sums with no duplicates. Visit the hints page to get progressive clues, or reveal the full solution after you've tried your best.
Kakuro Solving Tips
- Short runs are constrained: A 2-cell run summing to 3 can only be 1+2. A 2-cell run summing to 17 can only be 8+9.
- No repeats per run: If you've placed a 4 in a run, no other cell in that run can be 4.
- Cross-reference runs: Each white cell belongs to exactly one across run and one down run. Use both constraints together to narrow down the digit.
- Start with the most constrained: Find runs where only one combination of digits adds up to the target.
